What is Sound Healing?
The vibrations created in sound healing may assist to move the emotions within us.
In group, individual sessions or meditation sound assists to move the daily stress we feel. When we’re not focussed on the details of those stressors we have the opportunity to be calm, entered and balanced. What happens then? You are able to connect to deep intuition and be confident in decisions.
The cells in your body and the energy field around it have positive and negative points just as batteries do, ‘charging’ them during sound healing assists with increased energy, cell rejuvenation and a feeling of being focussed and grounded.
Vibration balances the ‘charge’ of emotion allowing a balance to occur. When you recall a past situation there isn’t the same emotional response. Without the pain, sadness, grief, loss or rejection (etc) you may heal and not be ‘stuck’ in that past situation. Yet the memories and learnings are not altered.
For example: When hurt in a relationship, there may be resistance to entering a new one. The pain is very real – when the ‘charge’ is high you will vibrate and attract the same experience. Sound Healing assists in easing the charged emotions. You can choose to be more aware and discerning in a new relationship.
What happens in a Session?
At the beginning of the session Amanda will ask you a couple of questions. What brought you to the session? You may have had a personal recommendation, read an article or listened to a podcast. What do you want from the session? There may be a repeated life experience, emotions such as anxiety or overwhelm that you’d like to address. Maybe you are seeking deep relaxation. There’s no right or wrong answer!
You’ll lie down on a super comfy massage table, the lights are dim, aromatherapy oils are diffused, light meditation music plays and the temperature perfect, there are blankets and knee bolsters too.
Next Amanda will start the session, all you need to do for the duration of the session is breathe and relax. Water or bathroom breaks are completely ok, it’s important to be comfortable!
How does Sound Healing Work?
As we know when you are stressed the body is more fatigued and tired. Sound healing assists to relax the body and calm the nervous system. This may assist with sleep and decrease your vulnerability toward overwhelm, anxiety, common cold, over thinking or muscle tension.
Instruments such as Drums, Tibetan Bell, Singing bowls, Tuning forks and a Gong are used. The vibration of sound waves connect with emotions in the *biofield.
This vibration balances the ‘charge’ of emotion allowing a balance to occur, so that when you recall a situation there isn’t the same emotional response to the memory.
Sound healing is an opportunity to reduce stress and integrate emotional wellness as a way of being.
When past hurts, pain, betrayals or resentments are recalibrated and released, heart rhythms become more coherent. In turn feelings become more balanced, assisting shifts in perception, increased intuition, mental clarity and coherence.
* The energy field around the body is called the “biofield.” It refers to the field of energy and information it contains surrounding the human body.
The biofield extends from 5 to 6 feet to the left and right, front and back of the body.
